To say they are rough on tools would be an understatement. The original design was very poor, and lets face it, these devices are being used by diesel and auto technicians. The main issue was with the USB connector at the bottom. Nexiq has decided not to provide this packaging with the new USB Link 2, but I guess who really cares about packaging?įor all its popularity, the original Nexiq USB Link had some serious design issues. Nexiq is 100% owned by Snap On, so between the large marketing spends, industry trade shows, and Snap On tool trucks, Nexiq has an unmatched distribution network. One of the main reasons that the Nexuq USB Link became so popular was because of their distribution. This adapter had been around for around 7 years, and was wildly popular. Communication between the PC and the 9 pin Deutsch connector is accomplished using the OEM Diagnostic Adapter Kit or any compliant protocol adapter.In early 2015, Nexiq Technologies discontinued the “tried and true” original NEXIQ 125032.
It runs independently of IDS although both diagnostics can run concurrently. The software package is installed on the same laptops running IDS. The Ford LCF is a software package providing diagnostics for model year 2004 and forward F650/750 and all Low Cab Forward (LCF) Medium Duty trucks and all international motors in Ford trucks with a 6 and 9 pin adapter.
This Ford LCF Low Cab Forward software is the factory dealer kit for Ford LCF. IDS also allows access to FDRS included in IDS purchase.
The IDS software license includes time based access to the IDS software, software updates and calibration files. IDS requires the use of Ford diagnostic hardware including VCM II, VCM 3 and VCMM devices. IDS provides complete dealership level vehicle diagnostic coverage for all 1996 to current Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles.
